Baseball Bisons Host Waldorf College in Three-Day Series

SEARCY – The Harding baseball team will take the field this weekend as they host Waldorf College at Jerry Moore Field for a three-day series. The Bisons will play two seven-inning games on Saturday and Sunday. The teams will wrap up the series with a nine-inning game on Monday. It will be the final non-conference series before the start of Gulf South Conference play.

Harding (5-10) looks to keep the momentum going into the weekend as they are coming off a doubleheader sweep of Drury this past Tuesday. The Bisons took game one 14-8 and game two 4-2.

Junior Jason Nappi leads Harding with a .415 batting average. He is second on the team in hits with 17 behind redshirt freshmen Anthony Guglielmi who has 18 hits on the season. As a team, the Bisons are hitting .272.

Sophomore Alex Smith leads the Harding pitchers with a 2-1 record. Smith has pitched 13 innings, giving up 14 hits and nine runs. He has also walked five and struck out five.

This weekend's series will be the first games Waldorf has played this season. Their previous four games were canceled due to weather.
