SEARCY - The Harding baseball team earned two come-from-behind victories Saturday over Waldorf College at Jerry Moore Field and extended their current winning streak to five games. The Bisons won 9-6 and 6-5.
Harding (7-10) will play three more games with Waldorf, two Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. and the series finale on Monday.
In the opener, Harding trailed 5-4 before scoring five runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead for good. The big blow of the inning was a two-run double from freshman Dylan Blount. Heath Boyd, Chase Presley and Anthony Guglielmi also drove in runs in the inning.
Presley, a sophomore from Jackson, Tenn., was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two driven in.
Freshman Tyler Billen (1-0) collected the win on the mound. He pitched 2 1/3 innings of relief and allowed just one earned run.
Junior Jason Nappi went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI and scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning of game two.
Sophomore Marc McRae laced a bases loaded single that scored Nappi, who led off the inning with his second double of the game.
Freshman Paul Anzalone also had three hits in the game for the Bisons.
The win again came from the bullpen for the Bisons. Freshman Lucas Waddell (1-0) allowed only one hit and struck out five in 3 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.
Waldorf (0-2) had eight hits in game two, two each from Jeremy Trach and Carlos Zuniga.
