Lady Bison Soccer Battles Back to Tie Anderson, 2-2 2OT

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Harding women's soccer team battled back from a 2-0 deficit to tie Anderson 2-2 in double overtime in Milledgeville, Ga., Sunday afternoon. The Lady Bisons move to 1-2-1 on the season.

It was the first time since the 2008 season against Drury, Harding has battled back from a 2-0 deficit.

The Trojans got on the board first in the 16th minute Alexandra Induni found Carrie Settle to send Anderson up 1-0. With two minutes remaining the in the first half, the Trojans took a 2-0 lead on a Krystal Goss goal.

Anderson took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

The Lady Bisons started mounting a comeback in the 63rd minute when freshman forward Adriana Lucar found fellow forward Paola Eusse for her second goal on the season.

The Harding offense took five shots, two on goal before they found the equalizer with 50 seconds remaining, when freshman midfielder Jenna Taylor found the back of the net for her first career goal on a corner kick by sophomore midfielder Lauren Scharf.

In the first overtime, each team had one chance for the victory but both keepers made the save.

Harding had a chance in the final minute of the second overtime but the Trojans goalkeeper Kaitlin Neipp came out with the save.

Harding led both teams in shots (27) and shots on goal (14). Lucar took six shots, three on goal to lead the Lady Bisons.

Harding senior goalkeeper Chelsea Hornbeck had nine saves in the game. Neipp had 12 saves for Anderson.

There were six cards given in the game, five yellow and one red to the Trojan bench.

The Lady Bisons will be back in action on Friday as they travel to Commerce, Texas to face Texas A&M-Commerce at 7:30 p.m.
