MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Harding men's tennis team ran its winning streak to nine matches Wednesday with victories over Christian Brothers and LeMoyne-Owen.
Harding (15-1) defeated Christian Brothers 9-0 and LeMoyne-Owen 6-0.
The Bisons won all three doubles matches against Christian Brothers. Helio Hashimoto and Ivan Michelli won their fifth straight match with an 8-3 victory at No. 1. Ben Bradley and Anthony Saegert improved to 2-0 with an 8-0 shutout at No. 2. J.B. Smith and Mason Bailey teamed for the first time and won 8-1 at No. 3.
Hashimoto won his sixth straight singles match 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1. Michelli won his second straight 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2. Corey Stumne also won his second straight with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 3. Sammy Lhotak won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 and improved to 3-2 in singles. Bailey won his first singles match of the season 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5.
Hashimoto and Michelli continued their winning ways against LeMoyne-Owen. The duo improved to 13-1 on the season with an 8-3 victory. Bailey and Smith won 8-0 at No. 2.
Hashimoto won his team-leading 11th singles match with a 7-5, 7-5 victory at No. 1, and Saegert moved to 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5.
Harding's next action is Monday when it hosts Stillman.
