Harding Road Trip Continues at SWOSU

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Harding's three-game Great American Conference road trip continues Saturday against Southwestern Oklahoma. Tip-off at Rankin Williams Field House is at 4 p.m., and will be broadcast live in Searcy on KVHU 95.3-FM.

The Bisons have won three straight, including a 78-71 victory over East Central in Ada, Okla., on Thursday in the first game of the trip.

Harding (7-5, 2-0) and Arkansas-Monticello are the only two teams in the GAC that are still undefeated in conference play. UAM was off Thursday night and plays Henderson State on Saturday.

The Bisons received another outstanding effort from junior forward Zach Roddenberry on Thursday. Roddenberry hit 11-of-15 shots, scored 23 points, and led the team with seven rebounds. Over the last four games, Roddenberry has averaged 21.0 points and 9.3 rebounds.

Sophomore Hayden Johnson scored Harding's first 10 points against East Central, had 17 points at halftime, and finished with a career-high 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Johnson suffered a gash above his left eye when battling for a rebound. He received stitches at an area hospital but is expected to play Saturday.

Southwestern Oklahoma enters the game 8-4 overall but is 0-3 in conference play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 78-72 loss to Arkansas Tech on Thursday, their first home defeat of the season. Thomas Davis, a junior transfer from Lufkin, Texas, had 26 points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots to lead Southwestern Oklahoma.

Harding and Southwestern Oklahoma are meeting for the eighth time, but for the first time since 2000. The Bulldogs hold a 4-3 advantage in the series overall and have won three of the four meetings in Weatherford.
