RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Harding men's basketball, currently second in the Great American Conference, takes on conference leader Arkansas Tech on Thursday at Tucker Coliseum. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m.
Harding (18-8, 11-7) is looking for its first road win since a Jan. 31 victory at Southern Nazarene, a span of four road games. Following the Arkansas Tech game, Harding will play its final game of the regular season Saturday in Searcy against Southeastern Oklahoma State.
The Bisons are coming off a 78-61 loss to Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday in Monticello. Hayden Johnson, Adam Sterrenberg, and Zach Roddenberry each scored 10 points, but Harding made only five free throws and committed 18 turnovers. Arkansas-Monticello, led by 27 points from Kori Forge, outscored Harding 28-9 off turnovers.
Arkansas Tech (15-9, 12-6) has won five of its last six games, including four straight on the road. The Wonder Boys defeated Southern Arkansas 69-65 in Magnolia on Saturday. Jared Williamson made four 3-pointers and led Arkansas Tech with 19 points. The Wonder Boys shot 53 percent overall and made 7-of-12 3-pointers.
Harding won the first meeting of the season between the teams 72-64 in Searcy on Jan. 24. The Bisons had four players score in double figures, led by Bradley Spencer with 15 points. Harding held Arkansas Tech to only 36.5 percent from the field.
