MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Harding men's tennis won its fourth straight match Wednesday with a 9-0 shutout of Christian Brothers at the TPC at Southwind.
Christian Brothers (1-7) had only five players and forfeited points at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.
Leading 2-0, Harding won both remaining doubles points. Felipe Carbonari and Caleb McReynolds played together for the first time and won 8-2 at No. 1. Adam Edwards and Germans Uglovs also teamed for the first time and won 8-0 at No. 2.
Harding won all five of the remaining singles matches without losing a game, but none more impressively than Edwards at No. 3. Edwards won all 48 points played in his match at won 6-0, 6-0. He is believed to be the first Harding player ever to win a match without losing a point. He is 5-2 this season in singles matches.
Uglovs won his team-best sixth straight singles match at No. 1. Carbonari improved to 4-0 in singles with a victory at No. 2. Juan Carlos Vasquez won his first singles match of the season at No. 4, and Sammy Lhotak improved to 2-0 at No. 6.
Harding returns to action Tuesday, Mar. 26 when it hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff in Searcy.
