ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Harding redshirt freshman goalkeeper Thomas Schults made five saves, including two during two overtime periods for the Bisons' first shutout of the season, a 0-0 tie with Ouachita Baptist on Tuesday at Kluck Field.
The shutout was the first for Harding (2-7-3) this season and its first since another 0-0 double-overtime tie last season against Hendrix. Ouachita Baptist (6-7-2) was shutout for the second straight game. It was the third tie in 19 meetings between the teams.
Harding played a season-high 20 players in the game and outshot Ouachita Baptist 18-15. Ten of the Bisons' shots came in the first half.
Harding returns to MIAA action Thursday at 7 p.m. The Bisons will take on Southwest Baptist at Stevens Field.
