No. 15 Lady Bisons Break School Scoring Record in Victory over Cameron

SEARCY – Senior forward Montana Lewis scored a career-high 28 points, and No. 15 Harding had its highest scoring output ever in a 115-84 victory over Cameron on Saturday at Rhodes Field House.

The victory was Harding's second in two days and was played with a completely different style than the Lady Bisons' 70-56 win over Christian Brothers on Friday.

Lewis was one of five Lady Bisons who had 13 or more points as Harding broke the previous school record of 107 points in a victory over Arkansas Baptist in 2004.

Harding (2-0) led 52-38 at halftime and extended the lead to as many as 36 in the second half, scoring 63 points after the break.

Senior Arielle Saunders scored 19 points and added 13 rebounds, including five offensive rebounds, for her second straight double-double and the 27th of her career. She also had a career-high eight assists.

Sophomore Correy Moyer had her first double-double as a Lady Bison with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Redshirt freshman Mackenzie McNamara scored 16 points and added nine rebounds off the bench, and sophomore A'ndi Haney had 13 points and six assists.

Harding had an overwhelming 60-33 rebound advantage and had 19 offensive rebounds that led to 26 second-chance points. The 60 rebounds rank fourth in a Harding single game.

Junior Brandi Leal led Cameron (0-2) with 18 points, hitting four of her team's seven 3-pointers.

Harding made 11 3-pointers, led by Lewis, who connected on 6-of-7 from long range. Lewis was 10-of-14 overall and went 7-of-7 with five 3-pointers in the second half.

The Lady Bisons will be back in action Monday to take on Delta State at 5:30 p.m. at Rhodes Field House.
