Ouachita Baptist Edges Harding 5-4 in GAC Men's Tennis Action

Jon Mark Rowden won at No. 2 doubles and No. 3 singles.
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - No. 40 Ouachita Baptist won a close 5-4 decision over No. 47 Harding in Great American Conference men's tennis action.

Ouachita Baptist improved to 5-8 overall and 1-2 in GAC action, while Harding fell to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in the GAC. Harding plays East Central on Saturday in its final conference match of the season.

Ouachita Baptist led 2-1 after doubles. Harding's lone point came at No. 2, where Jon Mark Rowden and Brandon Hogland won 8-5. The duo is now 2-2 overall and 1-1 in conference matches.

Harding and Ouachita Baptist split the six singles matches. The Bisons' three points came from Rowden (No. 3), Hogland (No. 4) and Caleb McReynolds (No. 5). Rowden won his 12th singles match of the season, Hogland improved to 8-8, and McReynolds notched his ninth win and first in a conference match.

The Bisons play a non-conference contest Thursday in Searcy against Arkansas-Fort Smith. The match begins at 1:30 p.m.
