SEARCY – The Harding women's soccer team is set to play its final non-conference game on Tuesday as they travel to Tahlequah, Okla., to face Northeastern State at 5 p.m. The Lady Bisons head into the game with a 1-7-0 record.
Harding
The Lady Bisons are 1-2 on the road this season.
Harding is coming off a 6-1 win at Ouachita Baptist last Thursday. It is the most goals Harding has ever scored against the Tigers. It was also the most goals the Lady Bisons have scored in a Great American Conference game and the most in a conference game since the Harding beat Christian Brothers 6-1 in 2007. Junior midfielder Audrey Adkison had three goals and two assists to lead the Lady Bisons.
Harding is led by Adkison who has five goals and three assists on the season. Junior midfielder Adair Schmidt has two goals for Harding and junior Ashley Sampson and sophomore Averie Albright each have one goal.
The Lady Bisons are averaging 12.6 shots per game and 1.12 goals per game.
Harding is coached by Dr. Greg Harris who is in his 14th season at the helm.
Northeastern State
Northeastern State, who is a NCAA Division II member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, heads into the game with a 4-3-0 record.
The Riverhawks are coming off a 1-0 conference win at Missouri Western on Sunday.
Tuesday will mark the fourth GAC team that Northeastern State has played this season. The Riverhawks fell in their season opener at Northwestern Oklahoma 3-1 but have defeated Ouachita Baptist and East Central each by a 2-1 score.
It will be the Riverhawks fifth home game this season. Northeastern State is 3-1-0 at home.
The Riverhawks are led by Melissa Giles, McKenzie Musella and Chelsea Martin who had have two goals and one assist on the season.
Northeastern State is averaging 1.14 goals per game and 16.4 shots per game.
The Riverhawks are coached by Chase Wooten who is in his fifth year.
Series
Northeastern State leads the series between the two teams 12-2-1.
The Riverhawks have won the last four games and have shutout the Lady Bisons in the last three meetings.
Harding will be looking for its first win in Tahlequah. The Lady Bisons are 0-9-0.
