Harding Women's Basketball Falls on Late 3-Pointer at Cameron

LAWTON, Okla. – Caitlin Clancy hit the game-winning 3-pointer from the left corner with 0:04 seconds remaining to give Cameron a 66-65 victory over Harding on Friday. It was the first time the Lady Bisons had trailed in the game since there were four minutes left in the first quarter.

Harding sophomore Sydney Layrock scored a career-high 28 points and led the Lady Bisons with 11 rebounds for her third career double-double. Junior Correy Moyer added 15 points, senior A'ndi Haney added 11 points and sophomore Falan Miller had five points and 10 rebounds.

Brittany Hill led Cameron, a member of the NCAA Division II Lone Star Conference, with 12 points.

RECORDS
The game was the season opener for both teams. Harding fell to 0-1, and Cameron is 1-0.

FIRST QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Harding led 17-10 after the first quarter with Moyer leading the Lady Bisons with seven points in the quarter. Haney had six points. Harding shot 40 percent in the quarter and held Cameron to 31 percent.

SECOND QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
The Lady Bisons led 33-26 at halftime. Layrock scored nine points in the quarter and made 5-of-6 free throws. Cameron scored nine of its 16 points in the quarter from the free-throw line, shooting only 23 percent from the field.

THIRD QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
The Lady Bisons led 49-43 after the third quarter. Layrock had 11 points and five rebounds in the quarter. She was 3-of-3 from 3-point range, and four of Harding's six field goals in the quarter were 3-pointers. Cameron outscored Harding 6-0 off turnovers in the quarter.

FOURTH QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Cameron outscored Harding 23-16 in the quarter with 18 of its 23 points coming from non-starters. The Aggies shot 53 percent. Layrock scored seven points in the quarter for the Lady Bisons. Harding took its largest lead of the game at 11 points with 7:31 left.

TEAM STATS
Harding shot 50 percent from 3-point range, connecting on 8-of-16.

Cameron shot only 27 percent in the first half, but shot 44 percent in the second half.

Cameron led Harding 28-24 in the paint, but the Lady Bisons held a 14-10 lead off turnovers.

Cameron had 38 points from non-starters.

INDIVIDUAL STATS
Sydney Layrock's 28 points marked her first career 20-point game. Her previous career high was 18 points last season against Henderson State. She also had more than 10 rebounds for the third time.

Falan Miller's 10 rebounds broke her previous career high of five, set twice last season.

Correy Moyer scored 15 points, her 11th game with 10 or more points for the Lady Bisons

Harding's next action is Thursday, Nov. 19 as the Lady Bisons begin Great American Conference action in Alva, Oklahoma, against Northwestern Oklahoma.
