SEARCY – Harding men's tennis, ranked No. 45 in NCAA Division II, will play three road matches in two days this week. The Bisons will meet NCAA Division I Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday at 1 p.m., and will play Christian Brothers and LeMoyne-Owen on Wednesday in Memphis, Tennessee.
Harding enters the week 5-5 overall and is coming off a 5-4 victory over Missouri-St. Louis on Mar. 20. The Bisons trailed 3-0 after doubles in that match and rallied to win five of the six singles matches to clinch the victory.
Senior Jon Mark Rowden won his first career match against a regionally-ranked opponent in the Missouri-St. Louis match and improved to 5-5 at No. 1 singles. He has a team-best 42 career singles victories.
Harding has been very successful at No. 2 and No. 6 singles this season, winning seven times in nine dual matches at both spots.
Freshman Adrian Torrico, sophomore Brandon Hogland, and sophomore Josh Hurt all enter the week with team-best three-match winning streaks.
Harding's top spot in doubles is at No. 3, where the Bisons are 7-3 in dual matches. Sophomore Neto Cacace and Torrico are 6-2 in their eight matches at No. 3 doubles. Cacace has been outstanding in doubles this season for Harding with a 12-4 doubles record.
Harding has been very successful against this trio of teams throughout its history. The Bisons hold a 20-1 series advantage against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 41-0 against Christian Brothers, and 22-0 against LeMoyne-Owen.
