SEARCY – The Harding women's basketball won its third straight game on Saturday when it defeated Ouachita 71-53 in Great American Conference action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
Sophomore forward Sydney Layrock led the Lady Bisons with 18 points, making two 3-pointers and all four of her free throws. Sophomore forward Mackenzie McNamara came off the bench and captured her first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Junior guard A'ndrea Haney made five field goals and finished with 14 points.
Ouachita was led by junior forward Katie Kapler who had 18 points and went 6-for-6 from the free throw line.

Harding improves to 9-3 overall and 7-1 in the GAC. Ouachita falls to 5-9 overall and 2-6 in the GAC.
FIRST QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Harding led 16-14 after the first quarter. Lundon Williams and Mackenzie McNamara each had four points and McNamara had four rebounds. Harding held Ouachita scoreless for the last two minutes of the quarter.
SECOND QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Harding led 36-31 at halftime. A'ndrea Haney had seven points in the quarter for the Lady Bisons. She made 3-of-5 field goals and one 3-pointer.
THIRD QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Harding extended their lead in the third quarter as they led 54-42. The Lady Bisons made three 3-pointers and grabbed 11 rebounds. Ouachita was held to three field goals in the quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Harding outscored Ouachita 17-11 in the fourth quarter. Sydney Layrock had eight points, making 4-of-4 free throws. Mackenzie McNamara grabbed six defensive rebounds. The Lady Bisons held the Lady Tigers scoreless for the last 4:46 of the quarter.
TEAM STATS
Harding shot 44.3 percent from the field, making 27 buckets and 9-of-21 3-pointers (42.9 percent).
The Lady Bisons held the Lady Tigers to shooting 34.6 percent from field. It was the sixth time this season Harding has held its opponent to shooting under 35 percent from the field.
Harding grabbed 38 rebounds to Ouachita's 30. The Lady Bisons had 11 offensive boards and turned them into 13 points.
INDIVIDUAL STATS
Haney, the GAC leader in steals, continued her stealing spree. She had four steals in the game for the seventh time this season. Haney needs one more steal to move into a tie for ninth all-time at Harding. She currently has 162 steals in her career.

Harding will play its third game in five days on Monday when it travels to Russellville, Arkansas to take on Arkansas Tech at 5:30 p.m., in Great American Conference action.
