Coach Kirby's Reaction to Career Win 200
DURANT, Okla. – Junior guard A'ndrea Harding scored a career-high 30 points to lead the Harding women's basketball team to a 103-95 overtime win on Saturday over Southeastern Oklahoma in Great American Conference Action.
Harding went 6-of-9 from the floor in overtime and scored 21 points to grab the victory. Sophomore forward Sydney Layrock scored 13 of her 24 points in overtime. Haney scored seven points and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
It was the first time in the NCAA era, Harding has had three players finish with 20 or more points. Along with Haney and Layrock, sophomore forward Mackenzie McNamara came off the bench and finished with a career-high 21 points. She went 7-of-11 from the field and 6-of-9 from the free throw line.
Southeastern Oklahoma was led by Olivia Potter who made 10 3-pointers and went on to scored 38 points. Kaylie Baxter had 23 points, making seven 3-pointers.
RECORDS
Harding improves to 7-3 overall and 5-1 in the GAC. Southeastern Oklahoma falls to 3-9 overall and 1-5 in the GAC.
FIRST QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Southeastern Oklahoma led 23-22 after the first quarter. Junior Kaylee Wiedower and A'ndrea Haney each scored six in the quarter for the Lady Bisons. Harding made five 3-pointers lead by Wiedower who had two.
SECOND QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Harding held Southeastern Oklahoma to eight points in the second quarter as the Lady Bisons lead 46-31 at halftime. Harding carried its hot shooting over into the second quarter as the Lady Bisons shot 53.3 percent and made eight buckets and four 3-pointers. Mackenzie McNamara went 4-for-6 from the field and scored 11 of her points.
THIRD QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Southeastern Oklahoma outscored Harding 23-17 in the third quarter as they cut into Lady Bisons' lead 63-54. The Savage Storm held Harding to shooting 27.8 percent (5-of-18). Olivia Potter scored 13 points, making three 3-pointers for Southeastern Oklahoma.
FOURTH QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Southeastern Oklahoma battled back from 11 points down to send the game into overtime. Harding got two free throws by Falan Miller with four seconds left to lead 82-79. A Lady Bison foul sent Taylor Richards to the line. Richards made her first free throw but on the second free throw, Harding had lane violation to give Richards another chance. She missed her second free throw but Southeastern Oklahoma came up with the board and Richards was fouled again with one second left. Down 82-80, Richards made both free throws to tie the game and force overtime.
OVERTIME HIGHLIGHTS
Harding scored 21 points and held Southeastern Oklahoma to 13 points in overtime. In the overtime's five minutes, the Lady Bisons scored more points than what they scored in the third and fourth quarters which are 10 minutes. Harding shot 66.7 percent (6-of-9) and made 7-of-9 free throws to seal the victory.
TEAM STATS
Harding shot a season-high 47.1 percent from the field. The Lady Bisons made 32-of-68 shots and made a season-high 13 3-pointers. Harding's 3-pointers tied for six most all-time at Harding.
It was the second time ever the Lady Bisons have scored 100 points on the road. It was the most points scored by Harding since the Lady Bisons set a school record when they beat Cameron 115-84 in Searcy last season. Harding's 103 points ties for eighth most in Lady Bison history.
Southeastern Oklahoma made 30-of-65 baskets to shoot 46.2 percent from the field. The Savage Storm made a season-high 18 3-pointers. It tied for the most by a Harding opponent in the NCAA era. Ouachita Baptist scored as many in 2009.
Harding grabbed 41 rebounds in the game. It was the seventh time this season the Lady Bisons have had 40 or more rebounds. Harding has a 6-1 record in those games.
It was Harding's first overtime game since Lady Bisons lost 61-60 at East Central in 2014. Harding improves to 10-12 in overtime games.
INDIVIDUAL STATS
A'ndrea Haney made 13 free throws to tie a career high. Haney became the 48th player to ever score at least 30 points in a game. She also captured her first double-double of her career when she had 10 rebounds. She was three assists away from a triple-double.

Harding will play its next two games at home. The Lady Bisons will face Arkansas-Monticello on Thursday at 5:30 p.m., and then face Ouachita on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
