Layrock Leads Women’s Basketball Over Oklahoma Baptist

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Junior forward Sydney Layrock scored 23 points, including three 3-pointers to lead the Harding women's basketball team over Oklahoma Baptist 81-58 in Great American Conference Action.

RECORDS
Harding improves to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the GAC. Oklahoma Baptist falls to 3-6 overall and 0-4 in the GAC.


FIRST QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Harding lead 13-5 with 6:03 left after a Caroline Hogue layup. Harding extended its lead to 13 on a 3-pointer by Sydney Layrock. Harding led 31-15 after the first quarter. Harding scored 31 points and made six 3-pointers.


SECOND QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Another 3-pointer by Sydney Layrock gave Harding a 34-18 lead with 8:49 left in half. A jumper by Riley Rose gave Harding a 45-30 lead at the break. Harding had five field goals in the quarter and grabbed eight rebounds.


THIRD QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Harding extended its lead to 23 in the third quarter when A'ndrea Haney hit a layup with 5:30 left in the quarter. Harding led 63-40 after the third. Haney had nine points in the quarter and Harding had 12 rebounds.


FOURTH QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Harding continued to dominate in the fourth quarter as HU led by 24 with 2:03 left on a 3-pointer by Chelsea Haidebrecht. Both teams scored 18 points in the quarter. Harding made seven field goals, including three 3-pointers.


TEAM/INDIVIDUAL STATS
Harding shot 50 percent in the game, making 30-of-60 field goals. Harding made a season-high 11 3-pointers, led by Falan Miller who had four.

Harding held Oklahoma Baptist to shooting 31.9 percent and 22 field goals. Oklahoma Baptist went 7-of-27 from behind the 3-point line.

Falan Miller finished with 16 points, making 6-of-11 field goals. A'ndrea Haney went 4-of-7 from the field and 4-of-6 from the free throw line to finish with 13 points.

Harding scored 28 of its 81 points in the paint.

Oklahoma Baptist was led by Aliyah White who had 13 points. Lexi Williams finished with 11 points and made three 3-pointers.

NEXT GAME

Harding will take a break from GAC action on Tuesday when it travels to Memphis, Tennessee to take on Christian Brothers at 5 p.m.
