Fourth Quarter Sinks Lady Bison Basketball

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Christian Brothers outscored the Harding women's basketball team 23-10 in the fourth quarter to come-from-behind to beat the Lady Bisons 67-66 in non-conference action.

Harding falls to 6-2 overall and Christian Brothers improves to 3-2.


FIRST QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
The two teams battled for the lead in the first quarter until Harding went on a 9-0 run to lead 21-13 at the break. The Lady Bisons shot 61.5 percent from the field and made three 3-pointers.


SECOND QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Harding extended its lead in the second quarter to 11 when Mackenzie McNamara made a ole' fashion three point play. Harding led 40-29 at halftime. Each team made six field goals and four 3-pointers in the quarter.


THIRD QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Harding held on to its double-digit lead in the third quarter and led by 13, 56-43, after a 3-pointer by Falan Miller. The Lady Bisons led 56-44 at the end of the quarter. Harding made three 3-pointers as Miller had nine points.


FOURTH QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Trailing by 10 with 8:20 left, Christian Brothers went on a 8-0 run to pull within two, 60-58 with 4:54 left. Harding took a 66-63 lead with 1:06 left on a 3-pointer by Correy Moyer. Christian Brothers answered back with a jumper by Samantha Reeves with 45 seconds remaining. After a Harding missed layup, Christian Brothers took the lead on a jumper by Courtney Banks with six seconds left. Harding missed a 3-pointer in the final seconds to give the Bucs the win. Christian Borthers made 9-of-12 field goals and had eight rebounds in quarter.


TEAM/INDIVIDUAL STATS
Harding shot 42.9 percent, making 21-of-49 shots, including 10 3-pointers. Christian Brothers shot 49 percent and made 23-of-49. It was the second time this season an opponent has shot over 40 percent.

Both teams made 10 3-pointers in the game. Harding was 10-of-27 and Christian Brothers was 10-of-21.

The Lady Bisons were led by junior guard Falan Miller who had a career-high 19 points and also tied a career-high with four made 3-pointers.

Sophomore Caroline Hogue captured her third double-double of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds for Harding.

Samantha Reeves and Courtney Banks each had 15 points to lead Christian Brothers.

NEXT GAME

Harding will play its final game of a four game road trip on Saturday when it takes on Abilene Christian in an exhibition game at 2 p.m.
