Banger Records Third Top-10, Places Seventh at Broncho Invitational

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Harding sophomore Mason Banger turned in his third top-10 finish in six tournaments this season, shooting a 36-hole score of 15-over 159 to tie for seventh at the Broncho Invitational by RBC Bank. The tournament, played at the par-72, 7,136-yard Gaillardia Country Club, concluded Tuesday.

Banger, of Southampton, England, tied for second at the NSU Golf Classic and tied for ninth at the Holiday Inn Express Classic for his other top-10 finishes this season.

On Tuesday, the winds in Oklahoma City exceeded 20 mph for the second straight day and scoring was high. The Bisons shot 339-337—676 and tied for 11th of the 16 teams in the tournament. Oklahoma Christian won at 631, and Zac Schaefer of Oklahoma Christian was the individual medalist at 7-over 151.

Harding's other golfers included: Cameron Murry (t-36th, 166); Alan Anderson (t-57th, 171); Ryan Anderson (t-85th, 181); and Jackson Smith (t-85th, 181). Harding's Logan Handy played as an individual and tied for 72nd at 175.

The Broncho Invitational was the second of four regular season spring tournaments for the Bisons. Harding's next action is at the Argonaut Invitational hosted by the University of West Florida at Tiger Point Golf Club in Gulf Breeze, Florida, on April 4-5.
