Baseball Bisons Split with Tech; Earn No. 7 Seed in GAC Tournament

SEARCY – Harding and Arkansas Tech split a Great American Conference doubleheader Sunday at Jerry Moore Field, and each team's win sealed a berth in the GAC Tournament.

Arkansas Tech (21-28, 12-20) won the opener 5-4 in 10 innings and clinched the No. 8 seed. Harding (23-26, 14-18), who honored 14 seniors in a pregame ceremony, won game two 2-1 and earned the No. 7 seed.

Still to be determined are the two teams' opponents in the first round of the conference tournament. Harding will travel to either Southwestern Oklahoma or Arkansas-Monticello depending on the result of Arkansas-Monticello's game tomorrow against Southern Arkansas. If Arkansas-Monticello defeats Southern Arkansas, the Weevils earn the No. 1 seed. If Arkansas-Monticello loses to Southern Arkansas, Southwestern Oklahoma is the No. 1 seed. Harding will travel to the No. 2 seed.

Arkansas Tech will travel to play the No. 1 seed in the first round of the GAC Tournament.
