Dallas Baptist Scores in Double Overtime to Defeat Harding Men's Soccer

DALLAS – Dallas Baptist's Jacob Garcia scored 73 seconds into double overtime to give the Patriots a 1-0 victory over Harding in the first game of the season for both teams.

Harding (0-1) continues its two-game trip to Dallas on Saturday with a game against Dallas Christian.

Dallas Baptist (1-0) outshot Harding 18-10. Sophomore newcomer Matheus Ribiero had four of Harding's shots, including both of the team's shots on goal.

Sophomore Michael Wasson started at goalkeeper for Harding and made seven saves.

Harding and Dallas Baptist, a member of the NCAA Division II Heartland Conference, have played seven times with three going into overtime. The teams opened last season with a 1-1 double overtime tie in Searcy.
