BETHANY, Okla. – Harding men's soccer gave up an early goal but rallied to score four straight and clinched the Great American Conference regular season championship with a 4-1 victory over Southern Nazarene.
With the victory, Harding improved to 6-4-2 overall and remained perfect at 5-0-0 in the GAC. The regular season championship is the first for Harding men's soccer team. The Bisons will host the GAC Tournament at Stevens Field on Nov. 3-5.
Southern Nazarene fell to 0-13-1 overall and 0-5-0 in conference games.
Erik Fernandez scored in the 12th minute to give Southern Nazarene the lead.
Christian Ramos pulled the Bisons even in the 41st minute with a penalty kick, his fourth goal of the season.
In the second half, Harding's Peter Hmung scored the eventual game-winner in the 81st minute, and added his second goal in the 88th minute. Braeden Grundy tacked on Harding's fourth goal just one minute later.
Harding outshot Southern Nazarene 30-10 and had 15 shots on goal.
