Harding Defense Shuts Down East Central for 10th Straight Win

ADA, Okla. – Sophomore Caroline Hogue scored 20 points, and No. 17 Harding limited East Central to only 20 second-half points in a 61-49 victory Saturday in Great American Conference at the Kerr Activities Center.

With the victory, Harding concludes the regular season 24-3 overall and 21-1 in the GAC. The Lady Bisons will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming GAC Tournament and will take on No. 8 seed Arkansas-Monticello on Thursday, March 2 at 5:45 p.m. at the Bruin Fieldhouse in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

It was Harding's 10th consecutive victory overall and 18th in its last 19 games.

East Central had its seven-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 13-13 overall and 12-10 in GAC games. The Tigers will be the No. 5 seed in the GAC Tournament and play No. 4 Southeastern Oklahoma in the quarterfinals.

Hogue was 7-of-11 from the field, hit her only 3-point attempts and made 5-of-6 free throws. It was Hogue's fifth game this season with 20 or more points. Senior A'ndrea Haney made three of Harding's five 3-pointers and scored 13 points. She also had six rebounds, three assists and six of Harding's 11 steals.

East Central senior Whitney Stotler led the Tigers with 16 points. East Central made only nine second half field goals and did not shoot a free throw after halftime.
Harding was 16-of-22 from the free-throw line. East Central was just 3-of-7.
