Harding Men's Basketball Six-Game Winning Streak Ends with Loss to Southern Nazarene

SEARCY – Southern Nazarene made almost 60 percent of its 3-point field-goal attempts and outrebounded Harding by 19 in a 98-65 victory over the Bisons on Saturday before 1,762 fans at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

The loss snapped Harding's six-game winning streak and dropped the Bisons to 13-6 overall and 10-5 in Great American Conference games. Harding is in fourth place in the GAC standings, three games behind leader Arkansas-Monticello.

Southern Nazarene snapped a three-game road losing skid with its largest scoring output of the season. The Crimson Storm improved to 11-9 overall and 8-6 in the GAC and moved into fifth place in the GAC standings.

Southern Nazarene scored the game's first 12 points, shot 51 percent in the first half, and led 50-33 at halftime. Harding missed its first 10 shots and shot 33 percent in the first half.

The Crimson Storm made 7-of-10 3-pointers in the second half and outscored Harding 48-32 after halftime.

Jhonathan Dunn made all five of his 3-point attempts and led Southern Nazarene with 28 points. LB Willis added 26 points.

Filip Medjo led Harding with 15 points, connecting on 6-of-7 attempts. Will Francis made 3-of-6 3-pointers and had 11, as did Tim Wagner. Stefan Andelkovic scored 10 and added seven rebounds.

Saturday's game was the second of four straight home games for the Bisons, who host Ouachita Baptist on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
