Grant Guest Laces Five Hits in Harding's 10th-Inning Victory

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Harding baseball team scored once in the ninth and again in the 10th to come from behind and defeat Ouachita 7-6 on Tuesday in a non-conference game at Rab Rodgers Field.

Junior Grant Guest went 5-for-5 with two runs scored and also reached on a walk. He is only the third Harding player to reach base six times in a game and the first since Trent Wooldridge had six hits against Ouachita Baptist in 2014. All five of Guest's hits were singles.

Harding (17-24) trailed 6-5 entering the ninth inning. With runners at the corners and Harding down to its last out, Jesse Cox's infield single scored Zach Beasley with the tying run.

Harding reliever Mason Faulkner (3-4) pitched a three up, three down bottom of the ninth to set up the Bisons' winning 10th inning.

Ben Brauss led off the inning and was hit by a pitch. He went to second on Guest's fifth single of the game and scored on Luke Van Dover's second double.

With one out in the bottom of the 10th, Jakahari Howell tripled, but Faulkner struck out Ty Owens and got Justin Weigle on a ground out to second to end the game.

Chris Taylor had three RBIs for the Bisons. He had a sacrifice fly in the third and a two-run single in the seventh.

Hunter McDade (0-2) took the loss for Ouachita, which lost to Harding for the fourth time this season.

Harding returns to Great American Conference action this weekend, hosting Arkansas-Monticello. The series is scheduled to begin Friday, weather permitting.
