Oklahoma Christian Scores Three Second-Half Goals to Defeat Harding Men's Soccer

SEARCY – Oklahoma Christian scored three goals in the second half, including the game-winner in the 79th minute, to defeat the Harding men's soccer team 3-2 on Saturday in non-conference action at Porter Rodgers Field.

Oklahoma Christian (2-0) took held a 2-1 lead after a 54th-minute goal from Sebastian Capkovic and a penalty kick goal in the 67th minute from Garrett Blume.

Harding (0-1) tied the game in the 70th minute on a header from Andre Cunha at the top of the six-yard box.

Oklahoma Christian's game-winning came just under 10 minutes later. Anthony Buchanan drove down the left sideline and sent a cross to Chandler Parrish, who just got enough of it to push it inside the far post.

Harding's opening goal came from Jason Diaz in the 42nd minute. He corralled a failed cross at the top of the 18-yard box and scored the Bisons' first goal of the season.

  • Harding had an 11-5 shot advantage in the first half, but Oklahoma Christian outshot Harding 10-6 in the second half.
  • Diaz's goal was the eighth of his career. Cunha's goal came in his Harding debut.
  • Jeremy Nwonumah's assist on Cunha's goal was the fourth of his career.
