BETHANY, Okla. – Southern Nazarene junior guard Adrienne Berry scored 34 points, including 11 in the game's final four minutes, and hit two free throws with six seconds remaining to give the Crimson Storm a 77-76 victory over Harding on Thursday in Great American Conference action at the Sawyer Center.
Harding (5-8, 1-4) took a 70-60 lead with 4:52 left on a Kellie Lampo layup. But Southern Nazarene scored the next seven points, including a 3-pointer from Berry with 3:42 remaining.
Lady Bison freshman Carissa Caples made a 3-pointer to give Harding a 73-67 advantage with 2:47 on the clock. Berry answered with a 3, and Irene Perez made a jumper to cut Harding's lead to 73-72. Sydnie Jones made one of two free throws, and the Lady Bisons led by two. Another Berry 3-pointer put Southern Nazarene up 75-74 with 29 seconds left.
Harding retook the lead 76-75 on Caples' layup, but Berry drove the baseline on Southern Nazarene's final possession and went to the free-throw line on a foul whistled on Harding's Sydnie Jones. Berry made both shots to put Southern Nazarene ahead.
Harding advanced the ball to mid-court after the free throws but missed two layup attempts on its final possession.
Southern Nazarene (5-5, 3-3) won its sixth straight at home, and Harding remained winless on the road at 0-4.
Harding plays its fourth straight game away from home Saturday against Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee.
Southern Nazarene took advantage of an 0-for-9 shooting start by Harding and held an early 13-0 lead. Caples stopped the skid with a 3-pointer from the left corner with 5:03 left to get the Lady Bisons rolling.
Harding trailed 23-14 after the first quarter, but opened the second quarter on a 15-4 run. The Lady Bisons tied the game at 27-27 with 6:10 left in the first half, and a Kennedy Cooper layup on the next possession gave Harding its first lead.
The game was tied twice more in the second quarter before Caples' jumper with 3 seconds left gave Harding a 40-38 lead.
Twenty-six of Harding's 40 points in the first half came from freshmen. Cooper had 11, Caples 10 and Lampo five.

Sydney Layrock led Harding with 20 points on 7-of-15 shooting. It was Layrock's second straight game with 20 points or more.
Caples had a season-high 15 points and led Harding with five blocked shots.
Lampo recorded her first collegiate double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Berry's 34 points were the most by a Harding opponent this season, as were her six 3-pointers.
Harding outrebounded Southern Nazarene 54-33 and had 20 offensive rebounds, leading to a 15-0 advantage in second-chance points.
Harding committed 21 turnovers to 11 for Southern Nazarene, and the Crimson Storm outscored the Lady Bisons 28-13 off turnovers.
