Harding Men's Soccer Battles to 1-0 Loss against No. 19 Northeastern State

SEARCY – It's been tough for anyone to stop Northeastern State's Joe Garcia recently.

Garcia scored in the 17th minute Friday to give 19th-ranked Northeastern State a 1-0 victory over Harding men's soccer in a nonconference matchup at Stevens Field.

The goal was Garcia's 11th of the season and extended his goal-scoring streak to 10 straight games, at least one in every game this season for the RiverHawks, who improved to 8-1-1.

Harding, now 6-4-1, managed 13 shots against the nationally ranked squad. Junior Christian Ramos had five of Harding's shots and both shots on goal.

Aric McKinney made his second straight start at goalkeeper for the Bisons and made a career-high six saves.

Friday's game was the first of four straight at home for Harding. The Bisons play Thursday at home in Great American Conference action against Southern Nazarene. Harding hosts Oklahoma Baptist Saturday, also in conference play.
