SEARCY – Four of Harding starters scored 10 points or more and the Lady Bisons defeated NAIA opponent Central Baptist 77-47 Saturday at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
Harding improved to 3-1 overall and used an outstanding first quarter to put the game away early.
The Lady Bisons led 29-8 and outscored the Mustangs 16-2 in the paint in the first period. Harding led 51-21 at halftime.
Carissa Caples led Harding with 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting, and Kellie Lampo made 5-of-9 shots and scored 13. Kennedy Cooper and Amanda Kearney both scored 10.
Kendra Cummings scored 11 to lead Central Baptist, who shot only 27 percent overall and made just 2-of-18 from 3-point range.
Harding's next game is against Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, Saturday, Nov. 24.
