Banger Earns First-Team All-GAC; Three Harding Golfers Receive Academic Honors

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Harding's Mason Banger received first-team All-Great American Conference, Cooper Dunn received the Elite Scholar Athlete Award, and Juan Luis Sanchez and Gregor MacIntosh took Distinguished Scholar Athlete accolades as the conference announced its postseason honors Saturday.

Banger, a senior from Southampton, England, was a unanimous choice for All-GAC, and for good reason. Banger is in the midst of arguably the best season ever for a Harding golfer. He has won twice this season and has six top-10 finishes in 10 events. Banger also has 10 of Harding 18 rounds of par or better this season. He is averaging 72.85 strokes per round, which would be a school record.

Dunn, a sophomore from Jackson, Tennessee, earned the Elite Scholar Athlete Award as the golfer with the highest GPA among those with 70 credit hours or more. He is an accounting major with a 3.85 GPA.

The Distinguished Scholar Athlete Award goes to any student-athlete that has a 3.70 GPA and more than 70 hours. Sanchez, a senior from Barcelona, Spain, is a marking major with a 3.82 GPA, and MacIntosh, a sophomore from Crawley, England, is a sport and recreation management major with a 3.75 GPA.
