ADA, Okla. – Harding split a pair of one-run games Monday to conclude its Great American Conference series with East Central. Harding used a five-run sixth inning to win game one 6-5. East Central came from eight runs down to win game two 9-8.

The first game was tied 1-1 after five innings, but in the sixth, Harding sent 12 batters to the plate. The inning included three Harding hits, three walks, two East Central errors and a wild pitch. Brendan Perrett and Nolan Fertig drove in the fifth and sixth runs of the inning with singles to right.

East Central came back with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to close the gap to 6-3 off Harding starter Tanner Smith.

In the seventh, reliever Mason Faulkner yielded a two-run single that left Harding ahead by just one run. Faulkner retired East Central three up, three down in the eight. He gave up a leadoff single in the ninth, but a fielder's choice and a 5-4-3 double play ended the game.
