BETHANY, Okla. – Southern Nazarene scored goals just over three minutes apart and defeated Harding 2-0 Saturday in Great American Conference action.
The loss was Harding's first in conference play and dropped the Bisons to 5-2-1 overall. Southern Nazarene improved to 3-5-0 overall and moved to first place in the conference standings at 2-0-0.
Carson Harding scored the first goal for Southern Nazarene in the 21st minute, and Cristian Hernandez added the second in the 24th minute.
Harding outshot Southern Nazarene 13-6 but was held scoreless for the first time in its last 17 games. The Bisons were last shutout last season against William Jewell.
Harding's next action is Tuesday at home against nonconference opponent Mississippi College. The game starts at 3 p.m. at Stevens Soccer Field.
