Harding Women's Basketball Suffers Overtime Loss to Tech

SEARCY – Arkansas Tech's Kiara Moses hit a 3-pointer from the left corner with 0.2 seconds remaining to give the Golden Suns a 68-67 victory over Harding in overtime at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

The shot gave Arkansas Tech a 68-65 advantage, but the Golden Suns received a technical foul for having players leave the bench in celebration. Carissa Caples made both technical free throws, but Harding's effort at a tip in on the final play fell short.

Harding lost for the first time in seven home games this season and fell to 10-5 overall and 5-4 in the GAC. Arkansas Tech improved to 6-9 overall and 3-6 in conference.

Harding led 61-55 with 4:04 left in regulation but did not score again in the fourth quarter, and Tech's Jayana Sanders made a jumper with 54 seconds left to send the game to overtime.

Harding outrebounded Tech 58-37 but committed a season-high 30 turnovers that led to 18 Tech points.

Kellie Lampo led Harding with 18 points and 19 rebounds, tied for the seventh-most rebounds in a game by a Lady Bison and a career high for Lampo. Caples added 17 points and made three of Harding's four 3-pointers. Cheyenne Brown was 6 of 9 from the field and scored 16 points.

Hannah Villines led Tech with 21 points on 9-of-23 shooting.

Harding shot 67 percent (6 of 9) in the second quarter and outscored Tech 17-10 in the period, taking a 34-28 lead into halftime.

Tech had 10 offensive rebounds in the first quarter and despite shooting only 30 percent (7 of 23), led Harding 18-17 after one.

Harding's next action is Saturday at Southern Arkansas. Tipoff in Magnolia will be at 1 p.m.
