Harding Men's Soccer Ties Southern Nazarene 2-2

SEARCY – Harding men's soccer came from a goal down twice and tied Southern Nazarene 2-2 after two overtimes Thursday in Great American Conference action at the Stevens Soccer Complex.

Harding moves to 6-3-2 overall and 5-2-1 in the GAC. Southern Nazarene is 2-9-1 and 1-6-1 in conference.

With Southern Nazarene leading 2-1, Harding's Joe Ruedi took a short pass from Matheus Ribeiro and scored his fourth goal of the season with just over six minutes left in regulation.

Southern Nazarene broke a 1-1 tie in the 70th minute when Jhon Mareus knocked home a cross from Osiel Morales for his first goal of the season.

Down 1-0 at halftime, Harding's Christian Ramos scored his team-leading ninth goal on an assist from Jack Savage. Ramos had a season-high 10 shots, six of them on goal. His 10 shots tied for third-most in a single game in program history.

Nicholas Salkind collected a failed clearance by the Harding defense to score Southern Nazarene's first goal in the 35th minute.

Southern Nazarene goalkeeper Reagan Haydon made 11 saves, and Harding's Carlos Calderon made four.

Harding will be back in action Saturday at 10 a.m. for a GAC home matchup against Oklahoma Baptist.
