SEARCY – Senior Christian Ramos became only the second Harding player ever to score four goals in a game in a 6-3 victory over Oklahoma Baptist Saturday in Great American Conference play at the Stevens Soccer Complex.
Harding remained in second place in the GAC with a 7-3-2 overall record and 6-2-1 conference mark. Oklahoma Baptist fell to 4-8-1 overall and 2-6-1 in the GAC.
Ramos had both of Harding's first-half goals, scoring in the 22nd minute on an assist from Jack Savage and again on a penalty kick in the 25th minute.
Harding led 2-1 at halftime.
Freshman Adrian Renteria scored his first career goal in the 51st minute to give Harding a 3-1 lead. Ramos added goals three and four in the 54th and 67th minutes, the second coming on another penalty kick.
Harding's final goal came from Andre Cunha with just under 10 minutes remaining.
Oklahoma Baptist had two players receive red cards and finished the game with nine players.
Luke Boren is the only other Harding player to score four times in a game. He scored four against Freed-Hardeman on Sept. 9, 2000.
