WICHITA, Kan. – Harding senior Christian Ramos scored twice to tie the school record for single-season goals and Jeremy Nwonumah added his second of the season to give the Bisons a 3-1 road conference victory over Newman Saturday.
Ramos scored his 15th goal of the season just over four minutes into the game on an assist from Nwonumah, who scored his goal in the 29th minute. Harding led 2-0 at halftime
Newman got a goal back in the 51st minute from Rafael Alkmim, but Ramos tied Ben Faris's school record with his 16th goal in the 79th minute to seal it for the Bisons.
The win keeps Harding in second place in the GAC. The Bisons are 8-4-2 overall and 7-3-1 in conference games. The top four teams make the GAC Tournament.
Newman dropped to 6-6-1 overall and 5-5-1 in conference.
Harding plays a nonconference home game Wednesday against Christian Brothers. The game begins at 3 p.m. at Stevens Soccer Field.
