Harding Men's Soccer Posts 2-0 Shutout of Ouachita

SEARCY – Harding men's soccer scored goals in both halves Saturday to defeat Ouachita Baptist 2-0 in Great American Conference action at the Stevens Soccer Complex.

With the win, Harding improved to 5-2-1 overall and remained alone in second place in the conference standings at 4-1-0. Ouachita remained winless in its last four games and dropped to 1-6-2 overall and 1-3-1 in conference.

Senior Christian Ramos scored his team-leading seventh goal in the 30th minute. Following a Ouachita foul just outside the top of the box, Ramos took a short pass from Andre Cunha and beat Tiger goalkeeper Matt Day inside the far post.

Harding held the 1-0 lead at halftime.

The Bisons added a goal from Oliver Callado, his second of the season, in the 76th minute. Adrian Renteria's pass from the far left side found Callado at the top of the box. His 20-yard shot scored inside the left post.

Ouachita had only two shots on goal in the game. The second came in the 84th minute on a penalty kick. Ouachita's Abraham Lazo took the kick, but Harding goalkeeper Carlos Calderon dove to his left and pinned the ball to the ground just inside the far post.

It was Calderon's third shutout of the season.

Harding's next action comes in conference play Thursday at Rogers State in Claremore, Oklahoma. The teams will meet for only the second time and first since 2015.
