Harding Drops Opener in Florida to No. 16 Fort Hays State

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Harding suffered its poorest shooting effort of the season and lost 89-48 to 16th-ranked Fort Hays State at the Cruzin' Classic.

Harding (5-4) shot 26%, connecting on just 17 of 65 shots. The Lady Bisons trailed 33-19 at halftime, and Fort Hays outscored Harding 35-11 in the fourth quarter.

Kellie Lampo was the only Lady Bison to score more than six points. She shot 5 of 8 from the field and led the team with 11 points. Lampo moved into 13th in career scoring at Harding with 1,103 points, passing Sierra Rollins (1,093, 2008-12).

Fort Hays State (8-2), a member of the MIAA, shot 41%, made nine 3-points, and hit 22 of 25 free throws.

Lanie Page scored a team-high 14 points.

Harding takes on MIAA opponent Washburn Thursday at 4:30 p.m. before returning to Searcy.
