BETHANY, Okla. – Southern Nazarene scored 10 of the game's last 12 points and defeated Harding 60-55 Thursday at the Sawyer Center in Great American Conference action.

The loss snapped Harding's six-game winning streak and dropped the Lady Bisons to 18-7 overall and 13-6 in GAC games. Harding is tied with Southern Nazarene (14-11, 13-6) and East Central for second place in the conference standings with three regular-season games remaining.

With the game tied at 55-55, Southern Nazarene's Alexus Jones hit a jumper in the lane to give the Crimson Storm the lead with 32 seconds left. Harding had two turnovers and a missed jumper on its last three possessions, and Southern Nazarene's Abby Niehues made three free throws to clinch the victory.

Southern Nazarene took its largest lead of the game at 41-29 after opening the third quarter on an 8-0 run. Harding answered with a 13-0 run and took a brief 42-41 lead.

Harding shot only 28 percent in the first half but outscored Southern Nazarene 11-3 at the free-throw line and trailed only 30-27 at halftime.

Harding led 15-11 after one period, but Southern Nazarene shot 54 percent in the second quarter and scored 19 points in the second 10 minutes.

Carissa Caples led Harding with 20 points, hitting 8 of 17 shots and made four of the Lady Bisons's five 3-pointers. Cheyenne Brown had 14 points and 10 rebounds for her second double-double. Kellie Lampo scored 13 points, nine coming at the free-throw line.

Niehues led the Crimson Storm with 16 points, seven rebounds and eight blocked shots.

Harding is back in action Saturday at Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
