Harding Men's Soccer Falls to No. 22 Fort Hays State

SEARCY – Five different Fort Hays State players scored goals in the first half and Sergio Villalba and Santiago Agudelo both scored twice in an 8-1 victory over Harding in Great American Conference play Saturday at Stevens Soccer Field.

Harding's goal came in the 58th minute on Christian Ramos's fifth penalty kick goal of the season. It was his sixth goal overall and came after Fort Hays fouled Riley Mayes in the box. Ramos now has 21 career goals, tying him with Brock Williams for second place on Harding's career goals list.

Moritz Walther opened the scoring less than five minutes into the game, and Fort Hays added goals from Moises Peralta, Agudelo, Rogelio Lopez and Villalba before the break.

Villalba scored again to open the second half before Ramos got Harding on the board. Agudelo and Caden Frank added late goals for Fort Hays.

The loss dropped Harding to 4-2-1 overall and 3-1-0 in conference play. The Bisons fell to second place in the GAC standings. Fort Hays returned to the top spot in the conference and now has a 4-3-1 overall record and 3-0-1 GAC mark.

Harding returns to action next Saturday in Searcy against Ouachita Baptist.
