SHAWNEE, Okla. – Harding junior Joel Polius tied his career high with 20 points and led the Bisons with eight rebounds, but Oklahoma Baptist made 16 3-pointers and defeated the Bisons 95-67 Thursday in a Great American Conference game at the Noble Center.
With the loss, Harding fell to 6-7 overall and 1-6 in the GAC. Oklahoma Baptist won its seventh straight home game and improved to 9-4 overall and 4-3 in conference.
Oklahoma Baptist junior guard Jaquan Simms made eight 3-pointers, six in the first half, and scored 31 points, the most by a Harding opponent this season.
Oklahoma Baptist made eight 3-pointers in the first half and led 49-34 at halftime.
Polius scored Harding's first eight points and had 16 in the first half. He shot 8 of 13 from the field.
Oklahoma Baptist shot 49% from the field and made 17 of 21 free throws. Harding shot 39%.
The Bisons are back in action Saturday at Southern Nazarene in Bethany, Oklahoma. Southern Nazarene defeated Arkansas Tech 79-47 Thursday in Bethany.
