Harding Falls to No. 24 Arkansas-Monticello in GAC Opener

MONTICELLO, Ark. – No. 24 Arkansas-Monticello defeated Harding 12-4 in the opening game of the Great American Conference season for both teams. Games two and three of the series are Sunday beginning at noon.

Harding scored three runs in the top of the third, but Arkansas-Monticello scored 12 straight before the Bisons tacked on a run in the top of the ninth.

Harding had six hits, and Michael Chrisman scored two of the Bisons's four runs.

UAM's Jordan Johnson went 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBIs and a home run to lead the Weevils.

Harding starter Andrew Bradshaw (1-2) took the loss, allowing five earned runs in 4 1/3 innings. UAM reliever Ojani Chacon (1-0) pitched five innings to earn the win.
