The Harding men's soccer team defeated Ouachita Baptist 3-0 Thursday on Senior Night. Before the match Harding honored three seniors,
Jack Savage,
Nick Foederer, and
Tyler Guentz playing in the final home match of their careers.
Harding improved to 4-7-2 on the season and 4-5-2 in conference play while Ouachita Baptist fell to 2-12-2 overall and 2-9-1 in conference.
Guentz put the Bisons on the board first with his second career goal and first goal of the season in the 28
thminute. Guentz chipped the ball over the keeper from 30 yards out after a long ball from
Stefano Silva to give the Bisons the lead.
In the 61
st minutes, Silva scored his second goal of the season off a pass from
Andres Castano. The Bisons put the game away with
Georgios Petousis' team-leading fifth goal of the season in the final minute of the match.
Casey Heustess picked up his first assist on the season.
Harding outshot the Tigers 18-12 with shots in both halves. Harding also had seven shots on goal while Ouachita Baptist only had five. Foederer got the start on his senior night and recorded five saves while giving up no goals for the third time this season.
Harding, eliminated from the GAC Tournament contention, will finish their season on Saturday when they travel to Claremore, Oklahoma to take on Rogers State, kicking off at 2 p.m.
