Harding Women's Track Opens Season at Pittsburg State

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Six members of the Harding women's indoor track and field team opened their season Friday and Saturday at two meets hosted by Pittsburg State at the Robert W. Plaster Center.

Three Lady Bisons participated in the Boo Rogers Multi Events Friday. Freshman Sofie Reitbauer, a psychology major from Frankfurt, Germany, scored 3,274 points in placing third in the pentathlon. The total was an NCAA provisional mark and placed Reitbauer second on Harding's career top 10 performers list in the pentathlon.

Reitbauer's highest point total in the five events came in the 60-meter hurdles, where her time of 9.60 earned her 789 points. She had the second-best mark in the shot put. Her 34-foot, 10.25-inch toss earned 570 points.

Senior Lauren Shell set a PR in placing 11th in the pentathlon with 3,114 points. She is fourth on Harding's career performers list. Freshman Emily Patterson placed 20th with 2,799 points and landed ninth on Harding's career performers list in her collegiate debut.

Saturday, three athletes competed in the Crimson and Gold Classic. All three turned in top-10 performances.

Sophomore Mariah Miller placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.51 meters (37-09.25). Senior Brylan Williams was sixth in the high jump with a clearance of 1.64 meters (5-04.50), and fifth-year senior Cara Mason placed ninth in the shot put with 12.59 meters (41-03.75).
