SEARCY, Ark. – Three school records fell and several NCAA provisional marks were established as the Harding women's track and field team dominated the Stallion Transportation Bryan Phillips Open this weekend at the Ted and Marcie Lloyd Track Complex.
Freshmen Roselyn Spencer, Yedidya Bangue, and Erika Konovalenko each etched their names into the Harding record books to lead a deep Lady Bison squad against a multi-division field.
Spencer Shatters Heptathlon Mark
Freshman Roselyn Spencer delivered the weekend's standout performance in the heptathlon, totaling 5,240 points to win the event. The score shattered the previous school record of 4,884 set by Jenna Akins in 2024. Spencer's mark is a comfortable NCAA provisional qualifier and ranks among the best in Division II this season.
Spencer secured the record with a consistent two-day effort, highlighted by a facility-record high jump of 1.69m (5-06.50). Sophomore Carly Tucker followed in sixth place with 4,650 points, also surpassing the NCAA provisional standard of 4,589.
Records Tumble in the Throws
The Lady Bison throwers rewrote the record books in both the shot put and the javelin.
Freshman Yedidya Bangue won the shot put with a toss of 14.62m (47-11.75), eclipsing her own school record of 14.56m set earlier this season. Bangue also captured the discus title with a provisional mark of 46.50m (152-07), leading a Harding sweep of the top three spots alongside Hannah Omosigho (42.83m) and Rachel Millikan (41.78m).
In the javelin, freshman Erika Konovalenko uncorked a massive throw of 51.84m (170-01). The mark smashed her previous school record of 50.26m and easily surpassed the NCAA provisional standard of 42.21m.
Sprints and Middle Distance
Junior Leila Ngapout swept the short sprints, winning the 100-meter dash in a provisional time of 11.67 seconds and taking the 200-meter dash in 24.20 seconds.
Senior Tetiana Kharashchuk demonstrated her range by winning the 800-meter run in 2:10.75, a provisional time that led a 1-2-4 Harding finish. Sharon Strydom took second in the event at 2:11.67. Kharashchuk also placed fourth in a competitive 400-meter dash with a provisional time of 54.86.
In the 1,500-meter run, senior Josie Parks took the top spot with a time of 4:34.18, finishing 10 seconds ahead of the nearest competitor.
