The Harding men's golf team finished in 10th place at the Natural State Golf Classic after shooting 315 in round two on Tuesday. Jacob Hefley highlighted the round with a hole-in-one on the par-3 sixth hole.
Caleb Nichols and Sam Tandy finished the tournament tied for 34th after both shooting 156 for the tournament. Trevor Mellott improved his score by six strokes in round 2 to finish with a 4-over 76 for the day and tied for 44th. Jake Croshaw shot a 12-over 84 to finish tied for 54th and Erik Shukhart matched his 10-over 82 round 1 to finish the tournament at 20-over 164.
Seven Bisons competed as individuals with four of them shooting season low rounds. Hefley shot his lowest round of the season, which included his hole-in-one from 209 yards out on the sixth hole. Leo Maciejek and Wilf Rush shot season low rounds to finish with a 14-over 158 and tied for 40th. Ethan Dahl finished with a 15-over 159 and tied for 44th. Quentin Malik and Tom Dallan both improved seven strokes in round two and finished 83rd and 97th.
The Bisons will travel to Hot Springs next week to compete in the Battle of the Belt, hosted by Henderson State at the Hot Springs Country Club. Round 1 will begin March 8 at 8:00 a.m.
