Bowes Scores Game-Winner in Double Overtime at Southern Nazarene

BETHANY, Okla. – Harding men's soccer earned its first win of the season in its fifth of six spring GAC/MIAA games, played Saturday against Southern Nazarene.

The Bisons (1-3-1) got the game-winning goal with six seconds remaining in the second overtime period from defender Donnell Bowes. It was Bowes's first goal of the season and third of his career. It was also his second game-winning goal and came on a feed from Peter Hmung.

Southern Nazarene concluded its season at 3-3.

Harding's Tyler Guentz scored the first goal of the game and first of his career in the 27th minute. Southern Nazarene equalized with a goal from Juan Rodarte with just over five minutes remaining in regulation.

Harding plays its final game of the season Monday at 6 p.m. against Ouachita Baptist at the Stevens Soccer Complex.
