Two Christian Brothers goals within the first five minutes of the match was all they needed as the Harding men's soccer team fell in their first match of the season, 5-1 in Memphis on Thursday night. Harding fell to 0-1 while Christian Brothers moved to 1-0.
Harding's lone goal came in the 56
th minute when Elliot Bracy scored unassisted. It was his first goal of the season and second goal of his career.
Christian Brothers scored three goals by three different players in the first half to take a 3-0 lead at halftime. Chandler O'Dwyer scored in the third minute, Felipe Arteaga scored in the fifth minute and Michael Longo scored in the 39
th minute. The Buccaneers added on two late goals with Ben Schwing scoring in the 81
stminute and Felipe Rodrigues scoring in the 88
th minute.
Harding had nine shots in the match with seven shots on goal.
Stefano Silva had three shots and two shots on goal.
Nick Foederer made his first appearance in goal for the Bisons and had four saves.
The Bisons will travel to Jackson, Tennessee on Saturday to take on Union at 7 p.m.
