Late Goals Sink Bisons at Union

The Harding men's soccer team fell on Saturday night as No. 16 Union's Stan De Vries scored in the 84thminute to force extra time before David Hurtado scored to win the match for the Bulldogs, 2-1. The Bisons fall to 0-2-0 on the season while the Bulldogs improve to 2-0-0. 
 
Harding struck first on the scoreboard in the 71st minute when Andres Castano sunk his first goal of the season with an assist from Georgios Petousis. It was Castano's second goal of his career. 
 
De Vries scored the equalizer for the Bulldogs. It was his first goal of the season off an assist from Davis Mungomba. Hurtado broke the tie and won the match for the Bulldogs with his second goal of the season assisted by William Valencia. 
 
Union outshot Harding 19-11 in the match. Union had ten shots on goal while Harding had only three. Nick Foederer started his second game in goal for the Bisons and recorded eight saves. 
 
The Bisons will look to grab their first win of the season when they return to play on Friday September 10 when they travel to Clinton, Mississippi to take on Mississippi College beginning at 3:30 p.m.
