SEARCY – Sage Hawley had 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead Harding to a 77-69 upset victory over 23rd-ranked Southwestern Oklahoma Saturday in Great American Conference women's basketball play at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House. The contest was a matchup of the first and second-place teams in the GAC entering Saturday's action.

The victory was the fourth straight for Harding, who improved to 12-5 overall and 8-4 in the GAC. Southwestern lost for only the second time in its last 16 games and fell to 15-4 overall and 9-2 in conference.

Patricija Peric's layup with 6:23 left capped the run and put the Lady Bisons ahead 61-53. Harding built its lead to 10 at 71-61 with just over two minutes left and hit seven free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.

It was Harding's 20th victory over a nationally ranked team in the school's NCAA era (since 1997).
