Harding Wins Fifth Straight, Downs Southeastern 66-59 in Durant

DURANT, Okla. – Harding senior Hannah Collins scored all 19 of her points in the second half and led the Lady Bisons to a 66-59 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma Thursday in Great American Conference women's basketball action at Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The victory gave Harding its second five-game winning streak of the season and pushed the Lady Bisons to 13-5 overall and 9-4 in conference. Harding is in second-place in the GAC standings behind Southwestern Oklahoma at 10-2.

Southeastern lost its third straight and fell to 7-10 overall and 5-6 in conference. It was the first loss for the Savage Storm in a GAC home game this season.

Harding shot 39% and held Southeastern Oklahoma to only 36%.

"We have not shot the ball well for a while now, but we have been making enough shots to win," head coach Tim Kirby said.

Leading 26-25 at halftime, Collins made three 3-pointers and scored 11 points in the third quarter to push the Lady Bisons to a 45-39 lead.

Harding maintained its lead in the fourth quarter, taking a 63-52 lead, its largest of the game on a Collins 3-pointer with 3:22 left. Southeastern scored the next seven points to trim the Lady Bison lead to four, but Harding held off Southeastern with Sage Hawley hitting a free throw and Collins sealing the victory with a jumper with just 35 seconds left.

Hawley scored 13 points, and Jacie Evans had 13 points and 12 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.

Briley Moon led Southeastern with 22 points, connecting on four of the Storm's eight 3-pointers.

Harding's Oklahoma road trip continues Saturday at third-place East Central. Tipoff in Ada is at 1 p.m.
